A Message from Principal Richard Nambu
Dear Our Lady of Malibu School Community,
Welcome to the beginning of the 2021-2022 School Year! My name is Rich Nambu, and I am your new principal. I have been in education for 39 years, as a teacher, coach, district administrator, and principal. I have worked in the Los Angeles Unified School District as well as the West Covina District. I have worked in large comprehensive high schools and small middle schools. My priority has always been to help students succeed in life as well as school. Ministry, supporting people’s growth spiritually, emotionally, and socially, has been a passion and calling for my life in all that I do, and I will bring both parts of myself to OLM.
I am so glad to be here and am so excited to meet you and get to know you. I have been here for six months and am more impressed with the students, families, and school every day. We offer rigorous standards based instruction. We have an energetic, hard working, and amazing PK-8th grade staff that are able to differentiate their students' education to support their learning needs, and we have seven elective teachers that connect to students' loves, passions, and gifts. We meet the needs of the whole child better than any other school I’ve seen, because each student gets to have art, music, STEM/Tech, PE, foriegn language, and religion every week. We have also added a gardening class this year. The OLM Community is filled with generous loving families that go above and beyond to help their students and the school to be the most successful it can be. I am excited to work with you in supporting your child’s education.
Mr. Rich Nambu
